Measuring Features in an Image

To measure features in an image:

Open the image that has features you want to measure.

The image appears in the Image-Pro workspace.

Measurement data can be reported in pixel values or calibrated values.  If a spatial calibration is applied to the image under investigation, then the calibrated values will be used.

(Optional.)  Apply the spatial calibration that you want to use for acquiring calibrated measurement data.  See Using Spatial Calibrations for more information.

Measurement results are displayed in a data table accessed from the Workspace ribbon.

To show the measurement results table, click on the Data Table tool in the View group of the Measure ribbon.

The measurement results table is displayed at the bottom of the workspace.

To access the measurement tools, go to the Measure ribbon.

On the Measurements ribbon, tools are provided in three different categories: Direct, Best Fit, and Relative.

Use the tools in the Direct, Relative, and Best Fit,groups to obtain the measurement data you require.  The results of the measurement will appear in the Output window.
